I’m not really educated enough on the subject to speak to the rest of it (although it does seem pretty basic to me that you should know your own birth records!) – but you’d think that at least medical history would be easily available. What if you’re predisposed to diabetes or something, don’t you have the right to know *before* you need insulin?

Maybe I’m thinking too simply but… access to one’s own birth record seems a basic right… Just as ‘right to life’ is being advocated, shouldn’t the right to your own birth record be part of that right?

Call me a simpleton…
